Trudi A. Saarivirta, 69, Rock Island, IL passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at her home with her husband by her side and under the care of Hospice. There will be a visitation from 4-7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the ASPCA or QC Paws.

Trudi was born on September 11, 1954 to William and Mary (Mehlin) Legler in Minneapolis, MN. After graduating high school and receiving her Associate's Degree, she began her career in office administration. She was working at Fermilab when she met John Saarivirta. They were married June 13, 1981 in Elburn, IL. The couple relocated to Arizona where they lived for ten years, and then moved to Dallas, TX before coming to the Quad Cities in 1995. Trudi was working at RSM as a senior administrative assistant at the time of her passing.

Trudi was a talented seamstress who sewed many of her own clothes and all of her husband's shirts, as well as many other items. She was also an avid reader who devoured fiction books.

Trudi was a big animal lover, especially cats, and she adored her kitties Willy, Casper and Squeaky. She was a proud aunt who was close to her nieces and nephews and in the recent years, her great-nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John; brother, Dave (Deedie) Legler; nephew, David Legler; nieces, Wendy Anderson and Tami Roberts; great-nieces, Savannah, Charlotte, and Catherine Legler; and a great-nephew, Andrew Roberts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Chuck Legler.
