Ty Thomas Bopes, 48, of Rock Island, died Sunday, May 28, 2023 at home.  Cremation rites were accorded.  A celebration of life gathering will take place on Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Andalusia Lions Park, 302 2nd Street West, Andalusia, Illinois.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family.

Ty was born in Moline, Illinois on July 18, 1974, a son of Gerald and Wanda Iverson Bopes.  He graduated from Rockridge High School, Taylor Ridge.

Ty married Jessica Whitehair on February 20, 1999 in Moline, Illinois.  Together they had three children.  They later divorced but remained great friends.

Ty worked in construction for the Local Laborers' Union #309.  He enjoyed a variety of activities including, darts, horseshoes, pool, bags, flat track racing, NASCAR, cooking, hunting, fishing and going out on the river.  He was also an avid sports fan who loved watching all of his children play in their various sports and activities.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Tyler (Baylee) Bopes, Emily Bopes and Ayden Bopes, all of Andalusia; mother, Wanda Bopes, Milan; grandson, Beaux Bopes; siblings, Gina (Troy) Roberts, Milan and Tony Bopes, Andalusia; best friend and mother of his children, Jessica Bopes; special friend, Teri Vroman; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.
