Tyler W. Greathouse, 45 of Muncie, Ind., formerly of Rock Island and Bloomington, Ill., died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 at his home.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5 until 6 p.m. Saturday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. A private family memorial service will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an education fund for his sons, Gunnar and Maddox or to the Muncie Mission.

Tyler was born April 13, 1970 in Silvis, a son of William "Bill" and Rita Knapp Greathouse. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1988, where he was a member of the swim team and played on Rocky's first soccer team. Tyler graduated from Illinois State University and received a degree in finance. He had worked 16 years for State Farm Insurance, Bloomington.

Tyler enjoyed playing golf and outdoor activities. He especially loved his sons and the times they were together.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Gunnar and Maddox Greathouse of Franklin, Tenn.; his parents, Rita Greathouse, and Bill and Carol Greathouse, all of Rock Island; brother, Joel (Branwyn) Greathouse, Fort Dodge, Iowa; sister, Erin (Chris) Ballman, Elmhurst, Ill.; grandmother, Lucienne Knapp, Rock Island; aunt; uncle; nieces and nephews.
