V. Louise Cullor, 94, of Milan, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Services will be Monday at 11 am at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation will be an hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made in care of the Rock Island Public Library.
Louise was born in Putnam County, Missouri on October 19, 1919, a daughter of Pearl S. and Mary S. Payne Minear. She married Rex F. Cullor on August 13, 1938 in Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1988.
Louise worked at Benner Tea Company from 1952-1962. She later worked as a bakery manager for the former Jacob's Grocery Store in Milan from 1972-1984. She received the Outstanding Bakery Operations Award on October 23, 1982. Louise also assisted as a book keeper for her husband's trucking business for about 25 years. She enjoyed reading, quilting and babysitting her grandchildren, which she considered the highlight of her week.
Survivors include her children (and spouses), Rose E. (Edwin) Shelton, East Moline, Rex F. (Nancy) Cullor Jr., Ringgold, Ga. and Francis C. (Carol) Cullor, Coal Valley; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandsons; 9 great-granddaughters; 3 great-great-granddaughters; sister Virginia Wheeler, New Windsor, Ill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Jackie L. Cullor, great-grandson, Drake Long, brothers, William, Loyal "Red" and Royal "Bud" Minear and sisters, Leo Tingley and Jean Wilson.
