Valeta M. Boot, 95, formerly of Illinois City, passed away Wednesday May 15, 2024 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.

Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday,  May 21, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to service time. Burial will follow in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Friendship Manor, Rock Island.

Valeta was born on November 17, 1928 in Davenport, the daughter of Grace (McFadden) Moughler and Kneal Moughler. She graduated from Davenport High School and later attended the University of Iowa.

Valeta was united in marriage to Robert L. Boot in January of 1953 in Rock Island. Together they owned and operated the Harley-Davidson dealership in Davenport for 26 years. She loved people and enjoyed volunteering with the culinary, greeting and marketing committes.

Valeta spent her last years at Friendship Manor in Rock Island.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Kneal and Grace Moughler; brothers, Virgil, Russell and Clarence Moughler; sister, Maxine Harvey.
