Velma "Mandy" E. Crandall, 82, of Sherrard, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Services for Mrs. Crandall are 11 am, Friday at the Cable Community Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Casual attire is requested for the visitation and service. Burial will be in the Cable Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cable Community Church.

Velma was born on October 2, 1934 in Cable, Illinois. a daughter of Benjamin and Anna Peterson Johnson. She married James Crandall on June 12, 1954 in Rock Island. Velma had worked for Royal Neighbors of America for 27 years, before her retirement in 1994. She loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Velma was a member of Cable Community Church. She enjoyed campground fires and having her great-grandson, Andrew drive her around the farm in a golf cart.

Survivors include her husband, James; children, Brian Crandall, Sherrard, Patty (Larry) Burford, Sherrard and Phillip Crandall, Coal Valley; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Vonda Kline, Rock Island; and a brother, LeRoy Johnson, Orion.
