Velma M. Morris, 80, of Milan, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. Services for Velma will be 11 am, Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation will be from 2 -4 pm, Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Andalusia Cemetery. Memorials may be to the Andalusia Volunteer Ambulance.Velma was born on October 3, 1933 in Hanover, IL to Harold and Florence Suck. In her younger years, Velma enjoyed riding horse and was a trick rider for many years. She graduated from Hanover High School in 1951 and married Neal Morris on September 28, 1951. They were married 54 years. Velma also was an avid bowler and card player. She worked for John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline for many years from which she retired. In her retirement years, she enjoyed taking cruises to the tropics with her husband, Neal and friends.

She is survived by sisters -in-laws, Florence Sanders and Belle Epperson; a aunt, Vonda (Sanderson) Bailey; several cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Neal; brother, Lester (Pete) Sanders; sisters, Donna Jean Huckstep and Edna Mae Suck. Online condolences may be left for the family at wheelanpressly.com
