Vera L. Beckhart, 81, of Rock Island, passed away Monday October 27, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services are 10:30am Thursday October 30, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be left to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriner's Hospital for Children.

Vera was born on February 8, 1944 in Rock Island, the daughter of Franklin and Vada (Weibring) Hermann. She married Charles R. Beckhart on June 6, 1964 in Rock Island.

Vera had stayed home to raise her two children and was always there to support her family.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island.

Vera was a devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed sewing and bingo.

Survivors include her children, Gregory (Mary) Beckhart, Peggy (Randy) Shesky; grandchildren, Timothy (Jenny) Beckhart, Derrick (Kadee) Beckhart, Matthew Beckhart, Ashley Shesky, Nathan (Dulce) Shesky;  10 great grandchildren and special friend, Donna Murphy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1998; parents, Franklin and Vada; and brother, Franklin Hermann Jr.
