Violet I. Staley, 88, of Coyne Center, passed away Saturday June 17, 2017 at UnityPoint Health, Trinity, Rock Island.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 24th, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial will be at Peniel Cemetery near Joy, IL. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Friday, June 23rd, at the funeral home and additional visitation one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Violet was born October 23, 1928 in Joy, IL, the daughter of Harry A. and Lillian I. Hall Crow. She graduated from Joy High School. Violet and Raymond C. Staley were united in marriage on July 20, 1946 in Joy. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1986.

Violet worked at the former Turn Style Dept. Store, Venture, and for many years at Sears.  She also will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was an avid bingo player, hockey fan, and gardener. She loved growing flowers and competed in the Mississippi Valley Flower Show for many years. She also was a season ticket holder and loved going to the Q.C. Mallards games. In earlier years she enjoyed doing needlework.

Surviving are her children, Peggy Reddig, and her husband Keith, Colona, IL, Dennis Staley, Coyne Center, Walter Allen Staley, Rock Island, and Roger Staley, Coyne Center; grandchildren (and spouses),  Sandra (James) Downey, Jeff (Aran) Reddig, Michelle (Mark) Reddig Sides, Raymond (Beth) Reddig, Christina Gail Staley, Teresa Ann Treon, Jennifer L. Staley (Jon Fauser), Tina Lynn (Joe) Staley Martzahn, John Raymond (Andrea) Staley, and Michael Allen Staley; twenty-four great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and additional family.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers, Virgil E. Hudson, Harold Crow, Wayne "Barney" Crow and Jerry Crow, in infancy.
