Virginia "Ginny" G. Gross, 94, of Rock Island passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made in care of Trinity United Methodist Church, Milan.
Ginny was born on May 29, 1929 in Milan, IL, a daughter of Sylvester J. and Verna Edith (Bell) Roberts. She married Francis Gene Gross on November 23, 1946 and he preceded her in death on September 20, 1994. Ginny worked in the kitchen for the Rock Island Milan School District for 20 years before retiring in 1992. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Milan and the Senior Citizen Center in Moline. Ginny enjoyed crocheting, reading, and volunteering with the Red Cross.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Linda (Denny) McNeal; grandchildren, John (Michelle) Bull, Carrie (Steve) Martin, Michael (Shan) McNeal, and Jeanine (Kirk) Mital; 9 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Jack (Doris) Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-granddaughter, Jennifer Jensen; sister, Darlene Cramer; and nephew, Brian Roberts.
