Virginia May Allman was born on April 6, 1924 in the small southern Iowa town of Eldon to Ethel and William Allman. She was one of six brothers and sisters. They were a poor hardworking family and that work ethic was obvious all through Virginia's life. She graduated from Eldon Cardinal High School and moved to the Quad Cities to join several of her sisters. She had several jobs during that time including working at the Rock Island Arsenal during World War II. It was during this time she meet Paul McIntosh, a returning serviceman. They married and moved to Des Moines where one son was born, Paul McIntosh II. They subsequently parted and Virginia moved for a short time to Wyoming. She returned to the Quad Cities where she found the love of her life, Charles Paul Anderson, they later married and spent the next 60 years together. He preceded her in death in 2011. Virginia took a job at John Deere Harvester Works just to help out for a few years, 27 years later she retired as a parts expeditor to most all dealerships in the U.S. Ginny loved music and attended most every concert at the old Mark of the Quad Cities. She loved to read and listen to her cd's. She was a friend to all and will be loved and missed by all who new her. She was a life long member of First Baptist Church, Moline. A special thank you too all the helpers and nurses at New Perspectives. There was a special spot in her heart for you! Also to Hospice Compassus, your help and kindness will always be remembered! Ginny was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Mildred, Irene and Ruth; brothers, Orville and Paul. Survivors include her son, Paul (Deborah) McIntosh; and a granddaughter, Felicia Feldman; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Diane Merry.
