Virginia Verschoore, 90, of Taylor Ridge, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Avonlea Assisted Living, Milan surrounded by her loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at the Parish of St. Teresa of Calcutta, St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Visitation will be 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 East 4th Avenue, Milan. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Avonlea Cottage.

Virginia was born December 8, 1935 in Guilford, NC, the daughter of Henry and Carrie (Bailey) Troxler. She married Paul Verschoore on April 27, 1957 in Moore, NC. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2006.

In her early years, Virginia enjoyed cross stitching, reading, cross word puzzles, gardening, canning especially strawberry jam and walking.

Survivors include her daughters, Paula (Timothy) Hahn, Milan, Diana Verschoore, Orion and Cathy (Bradley) Gingerich, Taylor Ridge; grandchildren, Chris, Beth, Amy, Jessica, Jason , Jonathan, Billy and Carrie; great grandchildren, Olivia, Adi, Grayson, Barrett, Corbyn, Maxwell, Henry, Haylee, Abby, Evan, Rory and Jackson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, James Verschoore, grandson, Braden, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
