IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wade William
Camlin
November 13, 1966 – February 16, 2022
Wade W. Camlin, 55, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Funeral Services will be 12 p.m. (noon) Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the KNOX CHAPEL of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at the Knox Chapel. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to "Rookies of '79" (formerly Aid to Injured Riders) at www.rookies79.com.
Wade was born November 13, 1966, in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Donald Camlin and Randi (Ristvedt) Everett. He was a 1985 graduate of Rock Island High School where he was involved in theater and yearbook. Wade married Dawn Summers in 1987 and had four children. He was a certified transmission mechanic and had a special talent working on motorcycle engines. He could build a transmission blindfolded, could keep any engine running, and could always help diagnose a car issue for a friend in need. He loved the family sport of motorcycle racing and achieved an AMA national number 36. Wade holds the unofficial record for the longest, continuous wheelie on both motorcycles and bicycles, even with a cigarette in his mouth. He made it look easy and fun. Wade enjoyed listening to music and arts and crafts. Above all, Wade was a proud father and enjoyed coaching youth basketball and softball when his children were younger.
Survivors include his children, Nicholas Camlin, Courtney (Joseph) Bustos, Haley Camlin, and Carlee Camlin; mother and step-father, Randi and Phil Everett; special friend, Frankie Fontagne; sister, Ashley (Todd) Renier; brother, Aaron (Myka) Ramos; niece, Sophia Renier; and a host of other family members.
Wade was preceded in death by his father, Donald; brother Davey Camlin; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
