Walburga A. McClung, 90, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday May 10, 2015 at Unity Point Health-Trinity, Rock Island.
A Memorial Mass will be held on 11:30am Thursday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in National Cemetery, Rock Island.
Walburga was born on January 28, 1925 in Exeter, NE, the daughter of John H. and Gertrude Emanuel Becker. She married Donald L. McClung on December 29, 1948 in Lincoln, NE. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2002.
Mrs. McClung had been employed at the Rock Island County Recorder's Office until her retirement in 1988.
She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, Daughters of Isabela Circle 532, Ladies Auxiliary Allouez Council 658, American Legion Auxiliary Post 246, and had been a active volunteer at the former Sacred Heart Grade School, Rock Island.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela (Tom) Carlson, Waterloo, IA, Kim Womack, Rock Island; son, James McClung, Rock Island; grandchildren, Kelly Shelton, Amy Bartels, Ashley Womack, Brian Womack; great grandchildren, Jacob, Macie, Jackson, Camden and brother, Bertrand Backer, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by her parents and numerous siblings.
