Ward T. Roberson, 78, of Rock Island, died Sunday, January 28, 2024 at home surrounded by family.  A funeral service will be 10 am Friday, February 2, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan.  Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, where military honors will be presented.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Ward was born in Moline, Illinois on November 29, 1945, a son of Paul and Florence "Flo" Sallows Roberson.  He married Sherry J. Nelson in 1967 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island.

Ward was a U.S. Army veteran who served during Vietnam.

Ward worked 32 years for John Deere Harvester in East Moline and retired in the late 90's.

Ward was a member of the Izaak Walton League of America, Davenport Chapter and the QC Parrott Heads.  He bowled in the John Deere Bowling League for many years.  Ward enjoyed working on cars, watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, collecting coins and fishing.  He had an ear for music and enjoyed organizing all of his albums and songs by the generations in which they were released.  Ward loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sherry Roberson, Rock Island; children, Wendy (Jim) Carlson, Davenport, Iowa and Tim (Mary Lou) Roberson, Muscatine, Iowa; grandchildren, Kyle, Kasey and Kelsey Carlson and Matthew Roberson; and siblings, Diane (Larry) Smith, Paulette (Shawn) Moreno and Amy Kresse.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Elianna and twin brother, Wade Roberson Sr.
