Wayland L. "Pee Wee" Clay, Sr., 76, of Davenport, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Funeral services are 11 am Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Entombment is in the Moline Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation is 10 am until service time Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Wayland was born Jan. 20, 1939 in Rock Island, a son of Allen and Allene Marie Perkins Clay. He married Wilhelmenia Land.
He worked as a concrete finisher for several Quad City construction companies and had also worked at John Deere and at International Harvester Farmall Works.
Wayland was a great fisherman. He enjoyed all sports, but especially the Bulls and Bears. Wayland also enjoyed watching old westerns and good food. His greatest love was for his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Wayland Jr. and William Clay, both of Rock Island; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brothers, Ronald and Harold Clay, both of Davenport; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Wilesha Clay; and several brothers and sisters.
