Wayne L. Anderson, 83, of Taylor Ridge, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Funeral service will be held 12:30 PM on Friday, January 2, 2015, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 801 Edgington St., Reynolds. Visitation will be held 10:30 AM until service time. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island, with military honors being performed by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, National MS Society, or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Wayne was born January 27, 1931, in McCausland, IA, the son of Fred and Edith (Seitz) Anderson. He married Delores Hampton on October 16, 1954. Wayne was very proud of being an Army Veteran serving from 1951-1953. He was employed at Alcoa working in production for 32 years. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially when the Bears, Cubs, and Bulls were playing. Wayne collected tools, and spent time watching and feeding birds.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Delores Anderson, Taylor Ridge; his sons, Gregory (Karen) Anderson, Moulton, AL, Michael Anderson, Andalusia, and Mitchel (Linda) Anderson, Andalusia; his siblings, Norman Anderson, Evelyn Hessman, and Karen Martin; his five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil and Harold Anderson; sister Delores Anderson; and infant granddaughter, Tedra Anderson.
