Wayne L. Foster, 90, formerly of Reynolds, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Avonlea Cottage in Milan, Illinois.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at the Reynolds Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Condolences may be sent to Wayne's family at P.O. Box 33, Aledo, IL, 61231.
Wayne was born January 4, 1934, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Earl C. and Zelpha Mae (Williamson) Foster. After graduating from Rock Island High School, he was employed by Borden Dairy and Dohrn Transfer Company.
On June 27, 1954, Wayne was united in marriage to Jean Hanner in Rock Island. The couple made their home in Reynolds, where they raised their children. Jean preceded Wayne in death on November 8, 2002.
Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. Besides his family, the greatest love of his life was pony training. He was a renowned trainer and showed many of the best Hackneys and Shetlands in the Midwest, until his retirement in 2010. Wayne was also a talented artist, pianist, and horse harness crafter.
Wayne is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Mark) Wille of Aledo, IL; sons, Doug (Lisa) Foster of Plano, TX, and Don Foster of East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Daniel (Sarah) Foster of Orion, IL, Sidney Foster of North Liberty, and Tanner Adolphson (Gina Garvis) of Davenport, IA; great-grandchildren, Emmalyn, Bryson, Joslyn, and Nellie Mae; sister, Loretta Malcolm of Moline; and numerous other relatives and dear friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; and great-grandson, Rylan Daniel Foster.
