Wayne Lee Nelson, 83, of Davenport, died Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Society, Davenport.  Cremation rites were accorded.  A graveside service will be 1 pm Friday, April 7, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Wayne was born in St. Charles, Illinois on February 27, 1940, a son of Reuben and Mildred Sjogren Nelson.  He married Denise Pierce on July 3, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  She preceded him in death on June 4, 2017.

Wayne was servicemen and salesman.  He last sold pay phones.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Jeremy (Tiffany) Nelson, Danny Nelson and Lane (Angie) Nelson; step-children, Mike Hunwardsen, Jeff (Spring) Hunwardsen and Michelle (Bill) Feliksiak; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; and brother, Allen Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, Delores Pennington and twin brother, Warren Nelson.
