Wayne Coty Taylor, 65, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island, Illinois. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Wayne was born on May 3, 1961, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Patricia Martin and Dean DeBord. He attended Rock Island High School. Wayne was first married to Deb Buskirk, and they later divorced. He then married Kelly Jo Taylor, who preceded him in death. Wayne shared many happy years with his significant other, Carla Staley.

Wayne worked in roofing for many years. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, and shooting pool with family and friends. Known for his strength and determination, Wayne faced his battle with cancer with remarkable courage.

Those left to cherish Wayne’s memory include his significant other, Carla Staley; daughters, Michele Hoxsey, Mindy (Joel) Taylor, Patricia Vosecky; son, Mark Murrell; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Cindy (Tim) Davis, Dean DeBord, Todd (Maria) DeBord, Kenny DeBord, and Debbie Triplett.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Kelly Jo Taylor.
