Wesley A. Matter, 64, of Milan, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. A Celebration of Life service for Wes will be held at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund that will be established at a later date.

Wes was born on April 16, 1956 in Moline, a son of Daniel and Beverly (Reed) Matter. He married Janet Appel on January 12, 2000 in Rock Island. Wes worked as an auto technician at Transmissions Plus, Colona. He was a former member of Milan Optimist Club. Wes enjoyed working on cars with his sons, camping at Cedar Lake in Bonne Terre, Missouri, drag racing, and having a beer with his friends.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; children, Scott (Jenny) Matter, Viola, Eric (Deidre) Matter, Woodhull, John (Wendy) Matter, Milan, and Tonya Appel (Ruben Pizano) Rock Island; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings, Todd (Lisa) Matter, Arnold, Missouri, Kim Matter, Rock Island, and Kevin (Cinda) Matter, Rock Island.
