Wilda R. Patterson, 94, of Moline, died Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.  Cremation rites were accorded.  Services will be private.  Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family.

Wilda was born in Eldora, Iowa on Sept. 22, 1921, a daughter of Opal and Leila L. Pipps Ray.  She married Glen E. Thornton in 1941 in Nashua, Iowa.  He preceded her in death.  She married Leon L. Patterson on July 26, 1956 in Decorah, Iowa.  He preceded her in death in 2011.

Wilda worked as a secretary for Klaus Radio in Eldridge, Iowa for ten years.

Throughout the last several years, Wilda enjoyed living at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline.  She adored everyone there and considered them all as part of her family.

Survivors include her children (and spouses), Michael D. (Patty) Thornton, Gary G. (Dianne) Thornton, Timothy N. Thornton and Jack L. (Joni) Patterson; and a host of grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, grandsons, Jason Thornton and Thomas Glen, great-granddaughter, Sophia Pribbenow, sister, Helen Ray Douglas and two brothers, Harold and Forrest Ray.
