Obituary

Willard M. "Mike" Prescott, 76, a lifelong resident of Milan, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the home he was also born in.
A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12th, at Andalusia Cemetery, Andalusia, IL, with inurnment following. Arrangements are entrusted to Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, IL.
Willard Michael Prescott was born January 4, 1938 in Milan, IL, a son of Willard Ray and Alice Orr Prescott. He and Beverly Leona Hillyer were united in marriage on November 16, 1957 at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.
Mike worked in construction his entire life. He was a pipefitter and member of Laborer's Local 309, Rock Island, for many years.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved the outdoors. He was the first hunter in Illinois to register a buck taken when archery hunting was allowed.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly, of Milan; children (and spouses), Nancy (Michael) Sodemann, Northwoods, WI, Theresa (Steven) Peterson, Warrenville, IL, Mark Prescott, Andalusia, Bryan (Jennifer) Prescott, Matherville, Jeffery Prescott, Milan, and Douglas (Natalie) Prescott, Milan; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Rae; parents; four sisters, Juanita, Gladys, Shirley and Ruby; and three brothers, Melvin, Dewey and Kenny.
