Obituary

William "Bill" H. Bluedorn, 82, of Milan, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Avonlea Cottage, Milan.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, with visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of Avonlea Cottage Memory Care Center, Milan.

Bill was born on October 26, 1943, in Davenport, Iowa, a son of Harvey and Edna (Bottomley) Bluedorn. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 to 1966. Bill married Victoria "Vicki" Lower on April 17, 1970 in Bettendorf, Iowa. He retired from International Business Machines as a support specialist, serving over 33 years.

Bill's hobbies included reading, riding his American Quarter Horses, singing, and hunting. He loved being in the outdoors and spent days at their ranch in Colorado. Bill was a life-long member of the National Rifle Association. He was also a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Big Horn Society, and Illinois City Saddle Club.

Those left to cherish Bill's memory is his wife, Vicki Bluedorn; siblings, Carol (Bob) Weiler, Rose (Don) Fischlein, Deborah (Mike) Kirby, and Harvey Bluedorn; and several nieces and nephews, close friends and hunting buddies.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Edna Ellen Fleagle, Donald Lee Bluedorn, Eugene H. Bluedorn, and Marylyn Robertson.
