William "Bill" David Brown, 62, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday morning November 9, 2024 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday November 16, 2024 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island and livestreamed at https://vimeo.com/1029835565/b8ccf9ec91 . Visitation will be 3:30 – 7:30 PM Friday, with a rosary to be recited at 3:00 PM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Humility Homes and Services, Inc or King's Harvest Pet Rescue.

Bill was born on September 3, 1962 in Rock Island, the son of John and Joan (Kerres) Brown Sr. He graduated from Alleman High School Class of 1980.

Mr. Brown had been employed as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service for 18 years. He had previously been a manager at Denny's Restaurants for 20 years.

He enjoyed hosting the Brown Family Christmas Eve gatherings, spending time with his family and friends, gardening and raising vegetable plants in his nursery.

Survivors include his siblings, John Brown Jr., George (Rhonda) Brown, Cathy (Bob) Veach, Janis (David) Hubbs, Jim (Connie) Brown, Bob (Karen) Brown, Peggy (Larry) McMeekan, Diane (Dennis) Reid, Steven Brown (Shannon White); several nieces, nephews, great nieces great nephews and cousins.He is also survived by special friends, Dorann Erickson and Deb Holdsworth, with whom he worked at the Postal service in his early years, visiting nurse, Jess James, who's devoted care was greatly appreciated and special caregivers, Nick Dinwiddie and Nathan Derry, who were instrumental at helping the family keep him at home these last months.
