William "Bill" D. Parr Sr., 89, of Rock Island, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, October 25, 2021.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, with a Masonic service at 7:00 pm.  A private graveside service will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to Gloria Dei Presbyterian Church, Rock Island.

Bill was born on August 6, 1932 in Rock Island, the son of John and Nellie (Sisco) Parr.  He married Shirley Stevenson on June 2, 1951.  He worked as a truck driver for Valley Construction for 32 years.  Bill was a member of Masonic Lodge Eureka No. 69 of Milan, the Scottish Rite Bodies, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Rock Island, and The Loyal Order of Moose, Rock Island.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, having family gatherings, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.

Bill is survived by his children, William (Marchia) Parr Jr., Geneseo, Kathy Parr, Orion, Terry Parr, Rock Island, Vickie (Paul) Slusser, Cambridge, IL, Steven Parr, Rock Island, Anna (Henry) Parr-Ethridge, and Tamara (Kevin) Areys; grandchildren, Brett Parr, Mike Parr, Nathan Parr, Paul Slusser Jr., Brian Nickell, Jaime Newkirk, Sarah Parr, Renee McClanahan, and Heather Coyne; 25 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents; sons, Danny and Ricky Parr; and sisters, Dolores Cralle and Marge Washburn.
