William "Willie" L. DeVore, 73, of Milan, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Moline.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave, Rock Island. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be left in care of the family.

Willie was born on November 15, 1951 in Centerville, Iowa, a son of Bernard and Carlene (Guler) DeVore. He married Shelley Fisk on September 3, 1971. Willie worked as a machinist for his entire career at American Speed in Moline.

Willie's passion was drag racing. He raced in many local and national events and won many titles in his super stock class. Willie was one of the rare few that could build a car from bumper to bumper and was deemed the "master of horsepower".

Those left to cherish Willie's memory include his wife, Shelley DeVore; son, Adam (Dana) DeVore; grandsons, Harper and Hank DeVore; mom, Carlene DeVore; siblings, Teresa Meholovoch and Kay Dentler; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Willie was preceded in death by his dad, Bernard DeVore; sister-in-law, Shari Wyldes; and brother-in-law, Todd Fisk.
