William "Bill" L. Morford, 82, of Sherrard, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, at UPH Trinity Muscatine.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, with a service to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Illinois City Cemetery. A luncheon will be served after the burial at the Illinois City Hall.

Memorials may be left to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Bill was born on November 5, 1942 in Illinois City, the son of William A. and Hazel Linnea (Preston) Morford. He married Joan Robinson on October 24, 1969.

Mr. Morford was employed with Carpenters Union Local 166, until his retirement. He was a member of Local 166, Silvis Masonic Lodge 898 and the In Fisherman Club.

Bill loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's activities and events. Bill and Joan loved traveling, camping and fishing. He enjoyed attending breakfast with friends and his carpenter retiree group.

Bill loved tinkering, building and fixing his own projects as well as family and friends' whenever he could. He would take pictures of all kinds of things but mostly photos of family events. He loved sharing those with everyone he could.

Survivors include his children, Steve (Diane) Morford of Muscatine, Iowa; Randy (Brenda) Morford of Aledo, Illinois; Kelly (Raine) Morford of Davenport, Iowa; Tim (Alycia) Morford of Hillsboro, Illinois; John (Susan) Morford of Muscatine, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Dolly Weeks, Florida, Janet (Gary) Swanson, Aledo, Sandra Blackhard, Coal Valley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan; son, Scott Morford; siblings, Carol Deyo, Susan Morford, Allen Morford, Harold "Butch" Morford, Nancy Morford.
