William "Bill" Rubel, 85, unexpectedly passed away June 14th, 2024, in Rock Island, Illinois.

Visitation is Friday, June 28th, 2024, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, from 2pm-3pm, with funeral services at 3pm. Burial will be in Laurens, Iowa at a later date.

Bill recently moved back to the Quad Cities after living in Las Vegas for 6 years. He was retired from the Rock Island Arsenal, a Disabled Army Veteran, Retired Reserve Officer, worked as Security at the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois and was a devoted Baseball and Basketball Fan who enjoyed cheering for his Favorite Teams!

He recently attended a June 2024 River Bandits Baseball Game, was crowned 2024 King of Karaoke and enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash, the Kingsman Trio and a variety of Music.  He was a Loyal Fan, Friend and Family Man. He never missed a chance to share his knowledge on Sports, History and News.

Beyond his dedication to baseball, Bill was a dedicated member of Civil Air Patrol.  He had countless College Degrees, Certificates and Awards. He enjoyed Reading and watching Movies.

He is survived by his children, family, friends and will be missed by Jennifer and Rahmi Salhi and all those who cherished his Friendship.  Bill's legacy will live on in the countless memories he created and the love he showed for things he was Passionate about.

Bill wanted to share that no matter how insignificant Military Trauma seems, file a VA Claim and get the help you deserve. People of all genders, ages, sexual orientations, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and branches of service have experienced Military Trauma that can negatively affect a person's mental and physical health, even many years later. Rest in peace, Bill. Give 'em Hell Coach!
