William Scott, 70, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday December 29, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is in charge of arrangements.

Bill was born on May 2, 1950 in Moline, the son of Robert and Barbara (Sample) Scott. He married Mary Eggert on August 22, 1970 in Milan.

Mr. Scott had been employed as the Finance Director for the City of Rock Island, retiring in 2012.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; father, Robert; children, Lincoln (Sophia) Scott, Ben (Claire) Scott, Emily Scott; grandchildren, Carter Scott, Quinn Scott, Zoe Blevins, Hayden Scott, Rowan Scott; brothers, Bob E. Scott and Dan Scott.  He was preceded in death by his mother.
