Wilonja Majaliwa Mashimango, 27, of Rock Island, native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, died Tuesday, May 5, 2020 as the result of an automobile accident. Friends may express their sympathy at a drive through only visitation from 9:00am to 11:30pm Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island.  Due to public gathering restriction's you will be directed when you arrive, and you will not be permitted to exit or gather outside of your vehicle.  A live-streamed funeral will be at 11:30 am Saturday by visiting www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream.  Burial will be private at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Wilonja was born in Uvira, Democratic Republic of the Congo on July 2, 1992, a son of Mashimango Abwe and Marie Richard.  He was currently working at Tyson Foods, Joslin, Ill.

Wilonja is survived by his parents, Marie Richard and Mashimango Abwe; daughter, Esther Wilonja Roda; brother, Aminia Mashimango; sister, Janette Mashimango; grandmother, Geanette Yowali; uncles, Hali Dolphine Etungano and L'home Richard; aunt, Machozi Mmenenwa; cousins, Hamnazo Shabani and Nyota Adela Kisubi; and cousin-in-law, Texas Kabonga.
