Yolanda J. Meyer, 96, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at home.  Services will be 11 am Friday, January 11, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island.  Visitation will be an hour prior to service time at the church.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made in care of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Yolanda was born on March 14, 1922 in Rock Island County, a daughter of Rollie and Rose Herbst Crouch.  She married Harold Meyer on August 30, 1940 in Rock Island.  He preceded her in death in June of 1989.

Yolanda worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Langman Construction, Rock Island.  She and her husband also ran a popcorn house for several years at the Duck Creek Plaza in Bettendorf.

Yolanda was a very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.  She loved her Immanuel family and served on various committees over the years.  She also volunteered much of her time at many area hospitals as well as the Davenport Lutheran Nursing Home.  Yolanda had a special gift of knowing when to come along side someone in need.  She also enjoyed baking.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Ellen (Douglas) Campbell, Rock Island and Harold (Jacque) Meyer, Carmichael, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Judy Meyer, Surprise, Ariz. and Ruth Willfong, West Jefferson, Ohio; and special friend, Lori Starr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Rollie Meyer, a great-granddaughter, four sisters, two brothers, and Jerry Willfong, whom Yolanda considered a son.
