Zachary J. VanDeVoorde, 55, of Moline, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his home. A memorial service for Zachary will be 2 pm, Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to family. An additional memorial gathering will be held at On the Rock Grille and Bar in Rock Island at 5 pm on Wednesday. Zach was born on July 27, 1959 in Rock Island, a son of August P. VanDeVoorde and Elizabeth M. Raymond VanDeVoorde. He married Penny Wilson on May 31, 2014 in Rock Island. Mr. VanDeVoorde worked at Hon Industries Warehouse, Milan. Previously he had worked as a painter for 11 years. He enjoyed playing billiards, dancing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Penny; children, Nicole Lopez, Davenport, Joshua Wilson, Moline and Kayla Wilson, Milan; grandchildren, Elijah, Jadyn and Lilly; siblings, Melanie (Adrian) Stoner, Moline and Shane VanDeVoorde and fiancée, Janet Parks, Coal Valley; and his mother in law, Beverly Hall, Moline; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Alexa, Shawn, Jason, Shannon and Brett.
