Cama Sue Creger, 78, of Sherrard passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf surrounded by family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 9th at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sherrard Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the Cable Community Church.
Cama was born on July 24, 1944 in Moline, a daughter of Abram and Helen (Watson) Creek. In 1962 she graduated as Salutatorian from Winola High School. Cama married Floyd Creger on September 12, 1965 in New Windsor, IL.
After working for several years, she went to Black Hawk College and graduated in 1982 with her Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education. She then worked as a library aide at Sherrard Public Schools. In 1983 Cama started in the print shop at the Rock Island Arsenal and held numerous jobs until she retired in 1999 after working as a Program Analyst and being the coordinator for the Commander Conferences. After retirement she went back to school through WIU where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts enabling her to be a substitute teacher. She taught at several local schools.
Cama was most proud of her role as a wife, mother and grandma. She was known for her great sense of humor and was always able to laugh at herself.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Floyd, Sherrard; children, Monte Allen (Stacey) Creger, Dunlap, and Daniel William Creger, Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Makayla, Tyler, and Alexis Mathewson; and siblings, David Creek, FonDuLac, WI, and Cara Jane Myers, Sherrard.
Cama was preceded in death by her parents.
