Charles Cole Obituary

Charles G. “Chickie” Cole, 60, of Moline, formerly of Milan, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Funeral services are 10 am on Saturday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan.  Visitation is 4 to 7 pm Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Charles Guy Cole was born June 11, 1958 in Moline, a son of Charles W. and Carol Ann Hines Cole.  He had worked as laborer with Laborers Union Local 309, Rock Island and also worked for Layer Bros. Construction and Brandt Construction, both of Milan.

Chickie was a lifetime member of the Rock Island Boat Club and the American Legion.  He was an avid fan of stock car racing, especially of Ray Guss Jr., having served as a member of his pit crew.  He also enjoyed NASCAR racing.  Chickie loved being with family and friends and making them smile and laugh.

Survivors include his dad, Charles “Chick” Cole, Milan; sisters and brother, Tammy (Ron) Wales, Milan, Lisa (Wayne) Stoner, Milan, Lori Cole, Rock Island, and Bill Cole (Andrea), Harrisburg, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Austin (Chelsea), Danica (Paul), Sean (Kaitlin), Julie (Bill), and Jaime; several cousins; and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol; and aunts and uncles.
