Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family to establish a fund for Cheryl’s grandchildren.

Cheryl was born on June 22, 1954, the daughter of Leonard and Joyce (Holland) Foulks. She attended Rock Island schools and graduated from Rock Island High School in 1972. She was known for her upbeat personality and humor, always greeting family and friends with a smile.

Cheryl was employed at Alcoa for several years. She also worked as a CNA at various nursing homes in Clinton, Iowa and the Quad Cities. She worked for several years at Bishops in Moline, and Mama Bosso’s in Rock Island.

Cheryl’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. Their special name for her was “Momo,” and there was nothing she wouldn’t do or provide for them. Holidays and birthdays were a special time for the family and Cheryl enjoyed shopping and making gifts for each of them. She made it a point to keep in touch with family near and far, and enjoyed attending reunions and other events and celebrations.

Cheryl was a person who never met a stranger and was known to be a collector of people and animals, (birds, cats, dogs) and she was affectionately called “Mother Theresa” by her brother, Dale Foulks. She opened her heart and home to many people and was an amazing cook who loved hosting gatherings at her home. Her genuine acts of humanity and generosity will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cheryl loved gardening and was also known for looking after wildlife, including feeding birds, squirrels and raccoons. She spent many days at the casino, where she enjoyed the buffets and winning.

Those left to cherish her life and memories are her son, Breon Vontae’ Foulks and daughter Brittney Lynn Foulks; grandchildren, Evie Renee, Taureona, Nariah, K’Bryelle and Kyng Foulks; her brother, Dale (Pauline) Foulks; aunts, Carolyn Foulks, who provided loving care, Betty Foulks and Lula Foulks, and  uncles, Glen Holland (Fabiane) and Johnnie Barnes; nephews, Damon and Dale Foulks and Quantez Fender; god daughter Krystal Lynn Hagen, her special friend, Louis Woods and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, parents, Joyce and Leonard Foulks and maternal and paternal grandparents.
