Christopher F. Pobanz

Christopher F. Pobanz, 58, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. A recitation of the rosary will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, with visitation following until 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.

Christopher was born February 11, 1964 to Paul and Susan (Crossman) Pobanz. He attended Alleman High School and graduated in 1981. Christopher was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle. He was a goofball who could always make you laugh. Christopher had a huge heart and would give the shirt off his back to someone in need.

Christopher was welcomed into Heaven by his father, Paul Pobanz; oldest brother, Kirk Pobanz; and nephew, Mark Pobanz.

Survivors include his mother, Susan Pobanz; daughters, Reena (Shane) DeSmet and Riley (Matthew) Kephart; siblings, Keith, Karl, Kent, Ky, and Katrina Pobanz; grandchildren, Sawyer, Dawson, Rowan, McKensie, and Piper; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Habitat for Humanity in Christopher's name.
