Clifford "Cork" K. Carey

Clifford “Cork” K. Carey, 80, of Rock Island, IL, formerly of Milan, IL, passed away Sunday May 22, 2022 at his home. Funeral arrangements are pending with Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday prior to services at the funeral home.

Clifford was born April 7, 1942 in Muscatine, Iowa, a son of Robert “Pat” and Muriel King Carey. He married Lottie M. Watson Bragg on September 10, 2012 in Rock Island. He was previously married to Marie Watson.

Clifford worked at John Deere PDC, Milan for 32 years, and owned and operated Carey Heating & Cooling.

He was a member of UAW Local 79. Clifford enjoyed bowling with his fellow John Deere retirees.

Surviving are his wife, Lottie, of Rock Island; daughter, Michelle Carey, Oklahoma; stepson, Michael (Bri) Bragg, Illinois; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Edyie Carey Dean, Peggy Gauley, and Faye Carey, and many nieces, nephews, and other family.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; children, Jason Carey, Dennis Carey, and Angela Carey.
