Clydean Hendley Obituary

Clydean M. Hendley, 75, of Davenport passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 4th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Clydean was born on December 24, 1946 in Mercer County, a daughter of Clyde and Audrey (Baugh) Pople. She worked for Modern Woodman and then later went on to work as a receptionist for the United Way of the Quad Cities. While at United Way, she worked with the Retired Seniors and Volunteer Program.

Clydean enjoyed quilting, reading, cats, playing the piano, Elvis, snow, and Christmas. She had a special love for our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She showed this love by teaching Sunday school, leading bible studies in her home, and playing the piano during church services for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory include children, Daren (Laurie) Hendley and Ashley Hendley; grandson, Nicholas; brother, DuWayne Pople; and cousin, Tammy (Mark) Swessinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Denny Bailey; and siblings, Jim, Rose, and Clyde Jr.
