Connie Sue (Crouch) Doyle

Connie Sue Doyle, 87, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at her home surrounded by family.  Services will be 10 am Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made in care of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Connie was born on May 19, 1932 in Strawberry, Arkansas, a daughter of Arthur E. and Elmer Milligan Crouch.  She married Ben D. Doyle on November 27, 1948 in Strawberry.  He preceded her in death on October 14, 1996.

Connie was a proud homemaker who cherished the time spent with her family.  She loved raising her grandchildren and even looked after many of the neighborhood children. 

Connie was a faithful member of Moline Church of Christ.  She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener.  She enjoyed listening and playing music.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children (and spouses), Aaron “Schaad” (Rondi) Doyle, Milan, Dr. Randy (Gabriele) Doyle, Andalusia and Teresa (Brian) Fry, Andalusia; grandchildren, Jenny, Brandon, Brooke, Brittany, Zechariah, Hardy and Nathanael; great-grandchildren, Eli, Christopher, Amanda, Emmit, Alyssa, Francesca and Isabel; sister-in-law, Joan Crouch; special nephew, Jack Crouch; and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, granddaughter – Annemarie Doyle-Lloyd, siblings – Jack, Mary Bell, Dub, Ted, Fred and infant sister, Shirley Ann.
