Dannie S. Shryack, 77, of Moline, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his residence. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date. Private inurnment with military honors will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Digestive Health Center, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Foundation, or the Moline Hospice Compassus.
Dannie was born on December 19, 1943 in McDonough County, Illinois, a son of Orville E. and Dorothy F. (Sallee) Shryack. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and married his high school sweetheart, Judy Sheraden, on October 9, 1965 in Rock Island. Dannie worked at Alcoa for 38 years and retired in 2001 as a general manager of the quality physical testing department. He was a member of the former Memorial Heights United Methodist Church and the QC Winnebago Camping Group. Dannie loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid traveler and visited all fifty states. Dannie also enjoyed reading and working on miscellaneous projects around the house.
Those left to cherish Dannie’s memory include his wife of 55 years; children, Christopher Shryack, West Des Moines, Iowa, and Kimberly (Chris) Pastega, Woodway, Washington; grandchildren, Megan (Irvin) Stumberg, Kyle Shryack, Jason Shryack, Paige Shryack, Trevor Pastega, and Taylor Pastega; sister-in-law, Judith Shryack; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Etta Sheraden.
Dannie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard “Dick” Shryack; and sister, Shirley Phillis.
