Deacon Frank G. Randazzo, 83, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Centennial Rehab and Healthcare, Moline. A Mass of Christian of Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. A rosary will be recited at 3 pm Thursday, April 29, 2021 followed by visitation from 3:30 – 6:00 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Entombment will be at Calvary Mausoleum, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan.
Frank was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 20, 1937, a son of Gasper and Providence Martino Randazzo. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 – 1961.
Frank spent about thirty years as a computer programmer at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1990.
Frank was ordained to permanent Deaconate in 1976. He served as a longtime deacon and member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Milan. He also served as the deacon for the East Moline Correctional Facility and Franciscan Hospital, currently UPH – Trinity, Rock Island for many years. Frank was currently a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, Secular Order of Franciscans and the Knights of Columbus.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Rosanna Damp, Rock Island; sister-in-law, Eva Randazzo, Rock Island; brother-in-law, Duane Owens, Moline; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Guy Randazzo, twin sister, Anna Marie Randazzo and sister, Frances Owens.
