Dr. Clay Tuttle Obituary

Dr. Clay D. Tuttle, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Rock Island, Ill., died Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at home.  A Requiem Mass will be 10 am Friday, October 29, 2021 at Trinity Anglican Church, Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be presented.  Memorials may be made in care of the Rock Island/Milan Booster Club or the Palmer Rugby Club.

Clay was born in Peoria, Ill. on August 23, 1950, a son of Eleanor Jolly Tuttle.  He married Jacki Lynn Grace on July 3, 1976 in Peoria, Ill.  She preceded him in death on August 25, 2010.

Clay was a U.S. Army veteran.  After being discharged from the Army, he attended and graduated Palmer College of Chiropractic with honors. He shortly after took a position on the faculty as an instructor and over the course of his 30-year career progressed to his final position as the Director of Alumni. He also maintained a private practice, Southtown Chiropractic, for over 40 years in Moline, Illinois. His passion for the profession and the people it brought into his life was unmatched. 

Clay was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Rock Island.  He was also a member of the Rock Island/Milan Booster Club, Palmer Rugby Club and countless Chiropractic Alumni Associations. Clay also enjoyed being hands on with a multitude of athletics for all of his children and freely volunteered his time to support each one of their endeavors. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his children (and spouses), Clinton E. (Mireille) Tuttle, Cleve R. (Elizabeth) Tuttle, Christopher Y. (Rachel) Tuttle, Tara A. (Joshua) Rebold Tuttle and Taylor G. Tuttle; grandchildren, Sandrine Tuttle, Costa Tuttle, Gabriel Florian, Saida Florian, Juliette Florian, Grace Tuttle, Curean Tuttle, Archie Lee Rebold, Deacon Rebold and Jackilynn Rebold; and siblings, Cole Tuttle, Peoria, Ill., Craig Tuttle, Mukilteo, Wash. and Tylyn Wigington, Newburgh, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his mother, wife and granddaughter, Vivienne Florian.
