Ernest "Wayne" Berhenke Jr., 64, Dahinda, IL passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Richard Owens Hospice House in Peoria, IL. There will be a visitation from 1-3:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Memorials may be made to the family.

Wayne was born on February 25, 1961 to Felva "Polly" and Ernest Berhenke Sr. in Moline, IL. After graduating from Rockridge High School in the Class of 1981, he starting working as an apartment manager. He later worked for Williams and White, the Iowa Interstate Railroad, and Servus Rubber.

Wayne had many hobbies. He enjoyed fishing and watching war movies and westerns. An avid Halloween fan, he went all out decorating and dressing up, even this last year. He and his best friend also went on paranormal investigations. In the summer months, his favorite thing to do was tend to his tomatoes in his garden. Wayne was a tinkerer – around his house as well as for his friends and neighbors. He served on the board of Happy Hollow Lake Association and went above and beyond in the neighborhood- cutting downed trees, filling potholes, anything that needed done. He was always around to help anyone and put everyone above himself.

Wayne is survived by his siblings, Jodi (Jeff) Toney, Pamela Deppe, Matthew (Shanna) Berhenke; numerous nieces and nephews; his best friend, Cheryl Miller and her family; and his beloved black kitties, Bear, Bubba, and Mittens.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
