Gary A. Bibby

Gary A. Bibby, 78, of Moline, died Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

A Resurrection Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3145 31st Avenue, Rock Island, IL, 61201 (church is a shared location with St. James Lutheran Church). Visitation will be one-hour prior at church from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church.

Gary was born January 9, 1945, in Rock Island to Jeanette Bibby (Fitze) and James Bibby. He married Richard Rohm on July 27, 2014, after a 40-year union.  They had planned to celebrate 50 years together on April 9, 2025 in Australia.  Rich and Gary were world travelers.  They loved cruising with friends and visiting former foreign exchange students and family members.

Gary loved the game of bridge and while reaching his silver life master he had a wonderful sense of cards at the bridge table with a hint of sarcasm.  He was very quick-witted and compassionate with his partners.

Gary was an avid reader; he loved the opera and was an amazing host.  He hosted pool parties and dinner parties and overnight guests. 

Gary graduated from Rock Island High School and Western Illinois University. 

Gary retired from Blackhawk College, Moline, prior to that he worked at AT&T as a manager in Davenport.

Those left to cherish Gary’s memory include his husband, Richard; sisters-in law, Jan Bibby and Kathy Manhard; son and daughter-in-law, Channing and Lisa Kenniker; niece and husband, Tammy and Chris Minuti; nephew and wife, Tony and Rhonda Beam; niece and husband, Susannah and James Harris; great nephews and nieces, Michael Minuti, Matthew Minuti, Atlee Beam, Makaela Minuti, and Deven Beam. Many other family and friends.
