George “Big G” Schulz, 53, passed away Monday June 27, 2022 at his home. A private memorial will be held on a later date.
George was born on July 16, 1968 in Davenport, Iowa, son of David and Cecelia (Lohse) Schulz. He fell in love with performing music and theatre in school. Big G had a voice and presence that matched his stature. He used those gifts to command any room or stage.
Big G painted his life with music, playing guitar and singing. He was an avid DnD gamer, Panda aficionado, and employed at NTI Milan. His true passion was improvisational comedy. He starred in ComedySportz QC, G.I.T. Improv, and Late Nite Shows for 20 years. He performed more than 3,000 shows across eight states, entertaining more than a hundred thousand people. He won three separate CSzWW Improv Championships while competing against comedians from 23 major cities.
Survivors include his life companion, Liz Somes; mother, Cecelia Schulz; daughters, Cassandra and Madelyn Schulz; sister, Kathy Wall; brother, Brian Schulz and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, David.
His loved ones will miss his warm laugh, big hugs, and giddiness for anything that makes you happy.
