Gina Louise Cavins, 62, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private inurnment will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery on Arsenal Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gina was born on January 5, 1963, in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Carol Mullins and Louise (Withrow) Huggins. She graduated from Corydon High School in 1981 and later married the love of her life, Stephen R. Cavins, on March 13, 1993. Over the years, Gina held various jobs before retiring, always bringing kindness and dedication to everything she did.

She found great joy in creativity and crafts, especially scrapbooking, crocheting, and embroidering. Gina also had a compassionate heart for animals and those in need.

Gina is lovingly remembered by her husband, Stephen; her children, Michael Cavins (fiancé, Kenna) and Melissa Cavins; her eight cherished grandchildren; and her brother, David Mullins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jerry Mullins; and her beloved son, Terance Cavins.
