Grace E. Franck, 89, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday July 7, 2021 at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Livestreamed funeral services will be 11am Monday July 12, 2021 at Wheelan-Presly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island and may be viewed at https://www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church of Peace U.C.C. sustaining fund or Rock Island Y.W.C.A. Building Fund.
Grace was born on September 19, 1931 to Alexander and Ione Guild. She graduated from Moline High School in 1949, later marrying Peter G. Franck. She had been employed at Willi Franck and Sons, General Contractors.
Mrs. Franck was a member of Church of Peace U.C.C., belonging to the Women’s Guild, Tri Mu Circle, Altar Guild and served as Deacon and volunteered at Book Nook. Grace was also a member of the Maude Van Meter circle of King’s Daughters, the Y.W.C.A., teaching slim and trim classes and volley ball classes. She had been active in water exercise classes and gymnastics at Moline Turners, attending and participating in many district and national meets.
Grace had enjoyed volley ball, downhill skiing, gymnastics, water colors, needle work. She loved and cherished her family and family get togethers.
Survivors include her children, Pauline (Joe) Carnahan, Peter (Tammy) Franck, David (Gail) Franck; grandchildren, Zachary (Tara) Carnahan, Alex (Amy) Carnahan, Tara (Michael) Hogan, Becky (Nic) Lake, Travis (Katie) Franck, Kimberly Franck, James Franck; great grandchildren, Alexa, Macie, Brycen, Emmorie, Ariana, Cora, Max, Emmett, Aurora, Peter, Annabelle; brother, Leonard Guild; sister, Shirley (Tom) Guild and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her husband; parents; sister Tharon; brother, Thomas; 3 infant children, Shelly Ione, Wayne Arlen and Emmaly Luise.
