Gregory D. Vogelsang

Gregory D. Vogelsang, 67, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Sunday January 16, 2022 at his home.

Memorial services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday, January 21, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, IL, with visitation one hour prior to services. Military honors will be presented by Milan American Legion Post 569.

Gregory was born January 14, 1955 in Pekin, Illinois, a son of Arthur and Charlotte (Howard) Vogelsang. He married Mary A. Talbot on May 3, 1997 in Rock Island.

Gregory was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed for many years at Stetson Building Products, Rock Island, where he was a supervisor.

He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and loved fishing. His favorite times were those spent with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Mary, of Rock Island; children, Race Vogelsang, Peoria, IL, Claye (Nora) Vogelsang, Peoria, Michael (Melanie) Talbot, Bettendorf, IA, Melissa Charlton, Milan, Stacey (Joe) Grimstad, Rock Island, Johnna Charlton, Rock Island, and Samantha (Jay) Steines, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Jax Vogelsang, Cylis Vogelsang, Joseph Talbot, Nicole Talbot, Isabella Talbot, Justice Charlton, Jakob Weber, Cheyeane Stanley, Hailey Stanley, Katelyn Stanley, Paige Stanley, Sabrina Bufford, Tabitha Charlton, “Sonny” Charlton, Skye Ensley, Zachary Steines, Dominick, Steines and Elliot Steines; great grandchildren, Kaden, Lucas, T.J. and Cali; brother, Joe (Christy) Vogelsang, Peoria, Vicky Robertson, Las Vegas, NV; and brother-in-law, Kenny Koelling, Pekin, IL.

Gregory was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyson Thompson; parents; brothers, Mark Vogelsang and Jim Vogelsang; and sister, Debbie Koelling.
