Harry LeRoy Frick, 88, of Bettendorf, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 16, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2136 Brady St., Davenport, where he was a member for 54 years. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with services.
Harry was born on December 13, 1933 to Edith and Harry Frick in Mansfield, Ohio. He married Marilyn Walls on September 6, 1958 at Grace Lutheran Church in Davenport. They shared 63 of marriage.
Harry retired from the Army Management Engineering College in 1993. Prior to this, he worked at the Burlington Atomic Entergy Commission plant for 10 years. He received his BSChE and MBA degrees from the University of Iowa. He played softball for 63 years and enjoyed tennis and golf. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts and coached youth baseball for several years. He was a member of Y’s Men International, the service club of the YMCA, for over 50 years, holding many local and regional offices as well as President of the U.S. Area and a member of the International Council. He was also a member of the Friendship Force of the Quad Cities and of the American Scandinavian Association.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Marilyn Frick; son, Robert (Carolyn) Frick; daughter, Wren (Matt) Goedken; grandchildren, Leah (Alex) Steinbrueck, Matthew Frick, Coe and Clay Vanhooser; and great grandsons, Ethan and Henry Steinbrueck. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Camp Shalom or to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport.
